Thuy’s American spirit began on April 30, 1975. Her family helicoptered out of South Viet Nam and onto the USS Midway. They ran from communism and left everything behind in pursuit of freedom, liberty, and opportunity. Central Florida has been Thuy’s home for almost 50 years. Her life in Florida started when a church in Winter Park sponsored her family out of EGLIN AIRFORCE BASE refugee camp.
Thuy learned to speak English, graduated from Edgewater High School, and earned a degree from the University of Central Florida. She is an entrepreneur and real-estate investor, radio talk show host, wife, mother, mentor, a community leader. She is also former Rotarian and was one of the early board members of Asian American Chamber of Commerce in Orange County, FL.
She took an early retirement from her non-emergency medical transportation business to raise her two sons. For years, Thuy spent much time mentoring and tutoring middle school students which earned her awards as Volunteer of the Year for four consecutive years.
In 2016, Thuy was the Republican nominee in Congressional District 10. After the election, Thuy continued her political messaging through her own radio show broadcasted weekly on affiliate station of Salem Radio Network. Her show drew nationally recognized guests such as Mercedes Schlapp - a former White House Director of Strategic Communications; Kayleigh McEnany, White House press secretary; and other high profile guests.
Thuy joined the Trump Victory Campaign Team in 2019 as the Regional Engagement Coordinator for Asian Pacific Americans (APA) in Florida to help promote America First agenda.
